FAQs

What is Solution Focused hypnotherapy?

Solution focused hypnotherapy is a type of therapy that combines hypnosis and talking therapy to help people make positive changes in their lives. There is a focus on the future and reframing your mindset to make powerful and lasting changes.

How can it help me?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can be effective for a wide range of issues, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression and low mood
  • Stress
  • Phobias
  • Smoking & vaping cessation
  • Weight loss
  • Panic attacks
  • Low self-esteem
  • Low confidence

Will I be put to sleep?

In every session, you will always be fully conscious of everything. You might have seen stage hypnotherapy, where the audience is put to sleep or made to perform in a certain way, this is very different to the solution based approach that I use. The trance part of our sessions uses relaxation and storytelling to embed your own positive intentions for the future.

Will I have to disclose past trauma, or painful memories as part of the process?

No, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy focuses on the present day and in looking forwards. We can acknowledge the past but the main focus is on the positive aspects of life and looking ahead with confidence. In general hypnotherapy, you won't be prompted to talk about anything deeply personal or painful. The only exception may be in the case of overcoming a specific phobia.

Can I have a free chat to discuss my needs before booking in?

Yes I am always happy to have a chat with you first to tell you how it all works and discuss your needs. This chat is always free, with no pressure to book in.

How much does it cost?

The Initial Consultation and each session thereafter is £60 each for all client needs, except for stop smoking/vaping which is charged as a total package at £199. Payment is taken upfront at the point of booking and is non-refundable if cancelled within 48 hours of your appointment.

Do I have to pay for the Initial Consultation?

Yes, it's charged at £60. The Initial Consultation is a crucial part of the process. This session will last approximately an hour and will enable me to get to know you and your motivations for hypnotherapy, so I can design a treatment plan to support your goals. In this session I also explain how the brain works, and how hypnotherapy can improve and enhance your life. Clients find the session truly insightful and enjoyable.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions you will need is totally unique to you and your goals. We’ll start with an Initial Consultation to learn more about you and explain how it works. Then if you’re happy treatment sessions will begin. Clients typically benefit from 10–12 sessions. Stopping smoking or vaping only requires one longer session (plus a free initial chat). Phobias typically require three sessions (plus initial consultation).

Where do treatment sessions take place?

In-person at my home treatment room, in the beautiful village of Wymeswold. Enjoy a warm and inviting space for you to relax and unwind. You’ll be offered a hot drink and there’s plenty of chilled water. Just bring yourself and an open mind.

How long do they last?

Each session lasts 1 hour. Please arrive 5 minutes early to make the most of your treatment time. Stop smoking/vaping sessions last 2 hours.

Is there free parking?

Yes you can park directly outside, on-road parking is free.

How do I book?

You can book via Fresha or email emilybenthamhypnotherapy@gmail.com
